Reliability Evaluation Through Analytics and Data for Emerging Technology in Photovoltaics

UL Indoor Facility

Indoor Testing

  • WLED setup (in-house): long-term stability testing of single-junction perovskite cells; simultaneous testing of up to 24 substrates (144 cells) under white LED illumination
  • BCLED setup (bichromatic LED, in-house): dedicated to tandem device testing
    • Two independently controlled spectral components allow rapid, precise setting of illumination level per sub-cell to match target photogenerated current
    • Designed to minimize light-source degradation for long-term stability studies
  • Paired with in-house μMPP tracker, PL, and EL imaging setups
  • Enables extended maximum-power-point tracking and stability measurements

UL offers a WLED setup for continuous or day-night cycling testing up to 1 sun, with temperature control and multiple operation modes (MPPT, Voc, Jsc), plus periodic high-resolution JV measurements at customizable intervals and comprehensive data analysis.

A dedicated BCLED setup supports accelerated testing of tandem devices, allowing independent control of photogenerated current in each subcell alongside precise temperature control, again under MPPT, Voc, or Jsc conditions.
