Reliability Evaluation Through Analytics and Data for Emerging Technology in Photovoltaics

UNITOV Indoor Facility

Indoor Testing

  • EL/PL imaging with integrated IV testing (temperature-controlled), plus ML/AI tools for degradation trend identification and failure mode prediction
  • 1 SUN plasma light soaking setup with active temperature control — accelerated aging, real-time monitoring, Arrhenius-based acceleration factor analysis
  • Materials/device characterization suite: SEM, Raman, XRD, LIBS, ellipsometry, TRPL, PL, EIS, spatially resolved PV measurements
  • Spectrally tuneable indoor PV testing station with programmable LED arrays — adjustable light intensity/colour temperature, for low-light and variable-condition testing (IoT, BIPV applications)
  • All installations calibrated and ready for transnational access; supports accurate, reproducible, multi-parameter testing simulating real-life stressors

UNITOV offers a modular, flexible range of services covering the full workflow from sample preparation to advanced analytics: high-resolution EL/PL imaging with programmable temperature/illumination for degradation tracking, accelerated 1 SUN light soaking with real-time monitoring, tuneable low-light LED testing for indoor applications, and coordinated material/device diagnostics (TRPL, EQE/IQE, EIS, Raman, XRD). AI-integrated data processing supports pattern recognition, failure-mode detection, and stability prediction, backed by expert technical/scientific consultation.

The facility support research on perovskite degradation mechanisms, mechanical stress resilience, low-light indoor PV performance, and AI-assisted stability mapping enabling work such as ML-based early failure prediction and indoor-outdoor correlation studies.
