Ready-PV announces the opening of its first Call for Transnational Access (TA) and Virtual Access (VA), providing the European photovoltaic research community with free-of-charge access to an integrated infrastructure for the characterization, testing, and computational modeling of next-generation PV materials and devices.
The call is designed to support researchers and industrial partners in advancing the technology readiness level (TRL) of novel photovoltaic materials and module architectures, with particular focus on emerging technologies such as perovskite-based and tandem PV devices.
Access Areas
Applicants may request access to one or more of the following infrastructure domains, via Transnational Access (on-site) or Virtual Access (remote, where applicable):
Outdoor Field-Testing Facilities
Access to instrumented outdoor test sites for the performance and degradation assessment of PV modules under real operating conditions, including monitoring of I-V characteristics, energy yield, and environmental stress factors (temperature, humidity, UV exposure, soiling).
Indoor Testing and Reliability Assessment
Access to indoor testing facilities for accelerated stress testing and reliability assessment of PV modules under controlled laboratory conditions, including thermal cycling, damp-heat, and UV exposure protocols in accordance with IEC standards.
Advanced Material and Device Characterization
Access to analytical techniques for the structural, morphological, optical, and electrical characterization of PV materials and devices, including — depending on the specific facility — methods such as XRD, SEM, PL/EL imaging, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and stability/degradation testing under controlled environmental conditions.
High-Performance Computing, ML and AI Resources (Virtual Access)
Remote access to HPC infrastructure and computational tools to support materials modeling, data-driven analysis, and machine learning approaches for the optimization of PV material properties and device performance.
Eligibility
The call is open to researchers, research institutions, and industrial stakeholders — including SMEs — active in the field of photovoltaic materials and device development, seeking TA/VA to specialized infrastructure not otherwise available within their own facilities.
Selection Procedure
Applications will be evaluated on the basis of scientific/technical merit, feasibility, and relevance to the objectives of the Ready-PV project, in line with the principles of transparency and excellence typical of transnational and virtual access programs.
Deadline and Application
Deadline: 30 November 2026, 23:59 (CET)
Full details on eligibility criteria, available infrastructure, and the TA/VA application procedure are provided on the project website.
