This IPVF indoor platform (https://www.ipvf.fr/machines/) provides reference-grade instrumentation for R&D across characterization, prototyping and accelerated ageing of PV devices. Characterization covers optical, morphological and optoelectronic measurements, including electroluminescence/photoluminescence (EL/PL) imaging and calibrated electrical and spectral testing, for both single-junction and tandem architectures. Prototyping capability covers precision scribing, stack assembly and vacuum lamination up to 1050 × 560 mm.For accelerated ageing, the platform operates multiple climatic chambers and continuous light soakers, enabling the full ISOS protocol suite, including intrinsic protocols, with in-situ monitoring incorporated when needed. Beyond UV exposure, the platform runs light cycling and light-thermal cycling to probe photo- and thermo-induced degradation, and damp-heat testing at standard or elevated pressure to accelerate stress and shorten time-to-failure. For intrinsic ageing studies, testing under inert N₂ decouples moisture/oxygen effects to isolate stack-composition or morphology changes, particularly valuable for thin-film and perovskite devices.
Throughout accelerated ageing, in-situ electrical monitoring combines periodic IV (J-V) sweeps with continuous maximum-power-point tracking (MPPT), providing time-resolved performance data that feeds directly into the degradation-mechanism analysis (Infra IPVF-Degradation+AI) described in this catalogue.
Services currently offered by the infrastructure
Accelerated-ageing campaigns implementing the ISOS protocol suite (light, thermal, damp-heat, light-thermal cycling, intrinsic N₂ ageing), with in-situ periodic IV and continuous MPPT monitoring.
Multi-technique characterization (EL/PL imaging, calibrated electrical/spectral testing) and device prototyping (scribing, stack assembly, vacuum lamination up to 1050 × 560 mm) for single-junction and tandem devices.
Modality of access
- Access via sample submission or on-site campaign at the IPVF indoor platform, for single-junction and tandem devices up to mini-module scale.
- Damp-heat pressure level, atmosphere (ambient vs inert N₂) and exposure protocol are configured per campaign according to the requester’s ageing question.
Support offered
- Protocol design support, including ISOS sequence selection and combination of stress factors (UV, thermal, humidity, light).
- Guidance on inert-atmosphere intrinsic-ageing design for isolating stack-composition or morphology effects.
- In-situ monitoring data (periodic IV, continuous MPPT) delivered in a format ready that feeds directly into the degradation-mechanism analysis (Infra IPVF-Degradation+AI) described in this catalogue.
