  • Ready-PV Officially Launches with Kick-Off Meeting in Berlin

    Berlin, Germany — June 2026

The Ready-PV consortium gathered in Berlin on 15–16 June 2026 for its official Kick-Off Meeting, hosted by the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), marking the formal start of the project’s activities.

The meeting opened with words of welcome from project coordinator Natalia Maticiuc (HZB), scientific coordinator Carolin Ulbrich (HZB), and European Commission Project Officer Eva Varga, who together outlined the objectives of the two-day event and the outcomes expected from the consortium’s first joint gathering. All partner institutions then introduced themselves, presenting their infrastructures, facilities, and roles within the project.

The first day continued with a presentation of the project’s overall motivation, objectives, expected impact, and key performance indicators, followed by an overview of the 17 research infrastructures and facilities that make up the Ready-PV network, including their access modalities, complementarity, and the user communities they aim to serve.

Discussions then turned to the project’s operational backbone, with dedicated sessions on coordination and project management (governance, risk management, communication channels, and deliverables), as well as on ethics, responsible research, data management, and safety and compliance procedures. The day concluded with an overview of financial and administrative rules, before participants visited Ready-PV’s infrastructures at HZB and joined a dinner to celebrate the launch of the project.

Day two focused on the project’s core activities across its work packages, with sessions dedicated to user management and access procedures, training activities, harmonised procedures and standards, and communication, dissemination and outreach. The meeting closed with a cross-work-package discussion on first deliverables, action items, timelines, and upcoming milestones, followed by final remarks from the coordination team.

With its consortium now fully aligned on objectives, governance, and next steps, Ready-PV is ready to begin delivering on its mission to open up and harmonise access to Europe’s photovoltaics research infrastructures.
